Employment, Internships & Other Volunteering

Employment

We are committed to building, learning and making ourselves better from a workplace culture free of discrimination against any employee, volunteer, grantee or donor because of race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, familial status, marital status, age, mental or physical disability, size, religious affiliation, immigration status, genetic make-up, military/veteran status, domestic violence victim/survivor status, pregnancy-related condition, prior arrest or conviction record, or past participation in the discrimination complaint process.

Community Foundation offers benefits including paid holidays, retirement match, and health insurance options. Hybrid work arrangements offering options for virtual and onsite work are permitted. We are a living wage employer, and an affiliate of the Diversity Consortium in Tompkins County.

Internships

The Community Foundation seeks individuals for internship placements. Recent News Spring 2020: Interns and Johnson Board Fellows Bring Energy and New Ideas.  Please contact Chief Executive Officer, George Ferrari, at gferrari@cftompkins.org, to schedule a meeting to explore internship opportunities.

Volunteering

The Community Foundation achieves its mission and serves Tompkins County thanks to the generous contribution of volunteers’ time and expertise. Volunteers work within the context of the Community Foundation’s Certificate of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Policies and Procedures. Of particular importance are the Council of Foundations’ National Standards and the Community Foundation’s Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality policies. Please refer to these documents on the Policies page.

Contact Chief Executive Officer, George Ferrari, at gferrari@cftompkins.org,  to schedule a meeting to explore volunteer opportunities. Or review the 2024 Committees and Responsibilities information and complete the Volunteer Information Form returning it to info@cftompkins.org to pursue any non-board volunteer opportunity. Thank you.
