Let’s Talk: Reimagining Public Safety
Join our guest, Karen Yearwood, City of Ithaca Reimagining Public Safety Working Group, for a 30 minute conversation on it’s findings, community feedback and its recently published report detailing suggestions to implement a new public safety agency.
Community engagement has been one of its pillars and has now taken a significant step forward.
The Reimagining Public Safety Collaborative launched its community feedback tool, located at www.publicsafetyreimagined.org, which fields input from people around the county, particularly around two aspects of the plan to start: implementing an unarmed response unit in the City of Ithaca, and developing a community healing plan to “address trauma in the relationship between residents and law enforcement for Ithaca and Tompkins County.”
Given the stresses of 2020 and the ongoing recovery from COVID-19 pandemic, learn along-side others. All of this with ongoing work to build a more racially just society. You will have an opportunity to ask questions.
